The body of a 27-year-old journalist has been returned to her own country, reportedly after being mutilated and tortured for months by Russian authorities.
Ukrainian reporter, Victoria Roshchyna, went missing back in August 2023 while on a work trip to Russian-occupied Ukraine.
She was confirmed dead earlier in 2025.

Back in February, her body was returned as past of a body exchange but CNN reporters have now shared that she experienced some truly evil things in the last moments of her life.
Yuriy Belousov, head of the war crimes department at Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office, shared that the forensic team had found “numerous signs of torture and ill-treatment,” including “abrasions and hemorrhages on various parts of the body, a broken rib and possible traces of electric shock.”
DNA tests later confirmed her identity despite Russia labelling the body as “an unidentified male”.
Her brain, eyeballs and part of her trachea were missing after her body was returned. NBC News reported that this was an attempt to disguise who the person was.
“Vika was always where the most important events for the country took place. And she would have continued to do this for many years, but the Russians killed her,” said journalist Evgeniya Motorevskaya. Adding: “For her, there was nothing more important than journalism. Vika was always where the most important events for the country took place. And she would have continued to do this for many years, but the Russians killed her.”
Meanwhile Donald Trump has spoken out about what he thinks Putin’s real plan was behind his ‘100 Days’ interview: “If it weren’t for me, I think [Putin] want to take over the whole country [Ukraine],”, “I will tell you, I was not happy when I saw Putin shooting missiles into a few towns and cities.”
Heartbreaking, RIP.
